Research in Dermatology

There are many justifications for pursuing a dermatology research interest. Due to its visibility and ease of sampling, the skin is the most significant organ that lends itself to clinical study. A fairly broad field, dermatology research includes anything from population-based studies to basic lab work on human samples and animal research. Recently, dermatology research has advanced to a new level, encompassing basic scientific research, clinical research, new methods for identifying dermatological illnesses, novel therapies, and treatment delivery.
